5 Ideas That Will Make You Think About Pain

By Charles Bonjorno

Comfortable shoes are very important for many reasons. Sometimes people endure horrible foot pain for the sake of fashion. The simple fact is no shoes are so fashionable as to be worth damaging your feet and subsequently your health.

This is not such a problem for men but for women attractive footwear can mean a pair of excruciatingly high 5 inch heels! Many women often wear those heels all day long at work and while shopping and running errands after work, until that evening when they get home their ankles, feet and toes are all throbbing with pain. But it's not only your feet that are being damaged by those uncomfortable shoes. Uncomfortable shoes can also be responsible for other even more serious health issues.

Uncomfortable, pointy shoes, where your toes are squeezed together can cause pinched nerves and misshapen toes, contributing to obvious conditions like blisters bunions and corns and can lead to more serious conditions in which there is nerve damage and thickening of tissue called Morton's Neuroma. Sometimes these conditions become so serious that they require a surgical intervention. It is recommended that people who wear such shoes only do so for short periods of time, resting their feet in slippers or a pair of flip-flops flops frequently to avoid irreversible foot damage.

Uncomfortable shoes not only affect your feet, but can take a toll on your posture, affecting the way that you walk. It is not uncommon to develop a limp from forcing your leg and back muscles to operate in an unnatural position. If you thought foot pain was bad wait until those precious pumps cause the muscle and nerve damage to settle into your lower back! Pressure on your hips and back from uncomfortable shoes can lead to more chronic and painful conditions like pinched nerves and sciatica.

Being in unnatural positions caused by wearing uncomfortable shoes can put undue pressure on your joints, particularly your knees and hips, causing cartilage damage and damaged knees caps, painful conditions that eventually can only be surgically corrected.

Shoes were not invented to damage feet. Shoes were actually invented to prevent damage to your feet and keep your feet healthy. Conditions like diabetes can also make foot care even more critical. Many kinds of orthopedic shoes can actually help you maintain good foot health and are attractive as well. Orthopedic shoes are now stylish and can be your solution to foot problems. With proper foot wear you will find a world of comfort and maybe your chronic back pain will go away as well!
