5 Steps To Getting Better Seo

By Michael Sant

Every few months or so, we become bombarded with the latest advertising campaigns and marketing fads, which always seem to disappear by the time a new one arises. With all of the recent advancements in wireless technologies and mobile communications and computing, there are now many different ways to contact and interact with your customers. As cell phones have all but replaced traditional landline phones, companies are finding new ways to market products and services using these devices, which may include text message services and mobile internet. In this, using the text messaging capabilities of cell phones has given advertisers a new way of carrying out their telemarketing strategies.

Although some homes and businesses still use wired landlines for various reasons, by far, the majority of people have grown to rely almost exclusively on their cell phones for regular communications. This has brought about many advantageous opportunities for marketers, especially as they have realized that most cell phone users very rarely do not have their mobile devices at their side. So, whereas traditional landline telemarketing depended on someone being at home to be effective, cell phone marketing, whether through voice or text messages, can be more direct and consistent. While traditional telemarketing must be carried out through interactive conversation, which has a limited success rate, sending marketing text messages is much more effective and efficient, as the message will display all of the necessary information immediately to the recipient.

More than a decade into the 21st century, we are seeing the media landscape change drastically, shifting to accommodate new technologies and devices. In light of this, many of the old marketing strategies just no longer hold up anymore. Newspapers, magazines, and radio are quickly being replaced by digital media stored on mobile devices, while many more people watch television programs over the internet. Given this, the new industry norm for advertisers is to focus primarily on those strategies that take good advantage of internet and mobile device technologies.

The text message marketing strategies have learned from the old telemarketing industry, and how annoying excessive, unsolicited phone calls can become. In the majority of cases, customers have made requests, through one form or another, to receive the SMS text advertisements they get. Even more, since the process to opt in or out of receiving these messages is essentially automated, customers no longer have to deal with the varying personalities of human telemarketers.

Certainly, SMS message marketing does have a slight tendency to be annoying, as most advertising strategies are, yet they give both customers and advertisers more degrees of freedom in this process. Do the research to find out which SMS marketing strategies and firms can best promote your business.
