Harcourts Australia announces Increase in Residential Tasmanian Sales to First Time Home Buyers

By Colin James

(Hobart) Although big banks are still nervous to lend money, regularly requiring a deposit of 30 to 40 %, first time house purchasers remain committed to buying. According to the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania, those purchasing a home for the first time made up 19 per cent of sales in the first quarter of 2013.

The median price of homes for sale in Hobart dropped by 1.4 % with the mean price of those in Launceston dropping by 4.4 %. By contrast, the median price of north west properties increased 7 %. "First time home buyers need to consider all when determining when and where to buy their new home," Tony Morrison, MANAGING DIRECTOR of Harcourts Tasmania explains.

Consider a home in East Launceston featuring four bedrooms and two baths, this home has been refurbished and extended to offer a functional and modern residence while still keeping the period character. First time customers may find a solid brick veneer home in Norwood better meets their wishes and their budget. "Property members work with each client to establish what is required in the new home and which properties best meet these needs," Mr Morrison continues.

Others may opt to go with a home in West Hobart, one featuring conventional timber features and Hobart red brick solid construction or one in South Hobart offering sun, privacy and 180 degree views. "The objective of Harcourts Australia is to sit with each client and identify exactly what they desire and need when referring to their new property. Once this has been revealed, suitable properties are selected for viewing. Clients are too busy or money to waste and the workers at Harcourts understand this. They work to dump those properties which are not acceptable before the client ever sees them," Mr Morrison goes on to assert.

Harcourts Australia offers a large range of residential properties to meet every budget, including houses, town houses and villas. Land is available for those wishing to build their dream home, with retirement living accommodations for people that are trying to sell property as an element of a downsizing process. "Harcourts Australia understands that different folk have different needs and works to find the perfect property for each client who walks through the door," Mr Morrison declares.
