Many travelers now opt to rent accommodation for their vacation rather than book a package tour or stay in guest houses and hotels. A large number of guests who elect to visit Europe will look for a holiday rental home France. Choosing this type of holiday enables guests to enjoy more freedom and privacy.

As with any type of rental the cost will vary according to where the property is located, how many it sleeps and what amenities are offered. The range of properties on offer is huge, from a little one bedroom flat to a grand villa for a large number of guests. After deciding on which region to stay in some other things need to be taken into account prior to booking.

Many properties cater for the sporting types and are located near fishing lakes, golf courses and for ski lovers, the Alps. A coastal property in the south of France or an apartment in the capital will be more expensive than one in rural areas so some consideration should be given to this. Many of the lettings offered are fully serviced with maids, gardeners and chefs.

After working out what type of accommodation is needed, some time should be spent pricing things and working out a budget. One room studio flats can be found for approximately forty dollars a night and a slightly larger 2 to 3 bed cottage or house for just over a hundred. When you are looking for accommodation in the capital city these prices can be doubled at least.

For those with a larger budget there are some very grand and luxurious holiday lets available starting from around ten thousand dollars a night. Featuring items such as bars, high end electrical goods, Jacuzzi pools, furnished to a very high standard and boasting the latest technology, these properties are very desirable.

When looking around for somewhere to spend a holiday, the Internet is a good place to start with thousands of properties advertised. Most of these sites will feature photographs of the accommodation accompanied by reviews from past guests. Some of the private owners who offer rentals also provide a telephone contact number so the potential guest can discuss their needs and ask any questions not answered on the advert.

When the final decision has been made on where to stay, it is worth contacting the managing company or individual to check a few points. Services provided, such as telephone and Internet access as well as water and electric consumption, are often billable as en extra dependent on usage. If catering is not provided it is also a good idea to locate the nearest food stores and any other facilities that may be required.

The final thing to check is insurance and whether it is included in with the price or to be arranged beforehand. Some letters will ask for a damage deposit which is refundable at the end of the stay following an inspection. Transfers to and from the point of arrival also need to be arranged if they are not included in the price of the rental.
