Sri Lankan-born actress Thusitha Jayasundera joins Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings

Amazon Studios recently announced twenty additional cast members who will be joining the ensemble cast of the Amazon Original series based on the iconic The Lord of the Rings novels by J.R.R. Tolkien, and Sri Lankan-born actress Thusitha Jayasundera is one of them. The newly revealed cast members will join the previously announced global cast and crew, currently filming in New Zealand. The new cast members include Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Maxim Baldry, Ian Blackburn, Kip Chapman, Anthony Crum, Maxine Cunliffe, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Thusitha Jayasundera, Fabian McCallum, Simon Merrells,​ Geoff Morrell, Peter Mullan, Lloyd Owen, Augustus Prew, Peter Tait, Alex Tarrant, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker and Sara Zwangobani. Thusitha Jayasundera is a Sri Lankan actress based in the United Kingdom. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1993. Jayasundera was born in 1971 in Sri Lanka. The actress is known for the movies The Foreigner (2017), Doctor Foster: A Woman Scorned (2015) and The Bill (1984).
