Galle Gladiators were fined 20 percent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over rate during its match against Dambulla Viiking, played on the 09th December 2020 at the MRICS, Hambantota of the ongoing Lanka Premier League Tournament.
The fine was imposed by Match Referee Wendell Labrooy, who found that Galle
Gladiators was one over short of the target completion time after time allowances
were taken into consideration.
In accordance with Article 2.23 of the LPL Code of Conduct for Players and Player
Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offenses, players are fined 20 percent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.
Galle Gladiators Captain Bhanuka Rajapaksa pleaded guilty to the offense and
accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
On-field umpires Ruchira Palliyaguruge, Ravi Kottahachchi, TV umpire Lyndon Hannibal, and fourth umpire Hemantha Botheju levelled the charge.

Amazon Studios recently announced twenty additional cast members who will be joining the ensemble cast of the Amazon Original series based on the iconic The Lord of the Rings novels by J.R.R. Tolkien, and Sri Lankan-born actress Thusitha Jayasundera is one of them.
The newly revealed cast members will join the previously announced global cast and crew, currently filming in New Zealand.
The new cast members include Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Maxim Baldry, Ian Blackburn, Kip Chapman, Anthony Crum, Maxine Cunliffe, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Thusitha Jayasundera, Fabian McCallum, Simon Merrells, Geoff Morrell, Peter Mullan, Lloyd Owen, Augustus Prew, Peter Tait, Alex Tarrant, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker and Sara Zwangobani.
Thusitha Jayasundera is a Sri Lankan actress based in the United Kingdom. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1993. Jayasundera was born in 1971 in Sri Lanka. The actress is known for the movies The Foreigner (2017), Doctor Foster: A Woman Scorned (2015) and The Bill (1984).
