Turbans for men have a large array of uses. The problem that most people make is to associate these great garments with terrorist activities. This could perhaps be attributed to the fact that almost all the pictures we have seen of terrorists, they have all been wearing these cloths. The fact of the matter is that there are many kinds of people who wear them.

Sikh men use turbans in order to cover their hair which can be quite long. One of the reasons why Sikh have long hair is due to the fact that they take it as a respect to God and therefore rarely cut it. Muslim religious leaders often wear turbans which are usually tied around a cap. These caps come in diverse colors and styles depending on the region where one comes from. For example, white is taken as a holy color considering that Mohamed always wore a white one.

Men who live in Afghan wear a certain type of turban depending on their tastes and preferences. Those in religious circles prefer to wear long ones which have a hanging end. Others instead prefer to just wear a hat instead of going the extra length of wearing a turban.

Even others prefer to don theirs which are beautifully colored with jewels and fancy pieces of cloths.

The kaffiyeh is a certain type of turban which has gained a very high popularity in recent times. One of the people who popularized them was Yasser Arafat, a famous Palestinian leader. Even though men from Jordan and Saudi Arabia have been wearing the kaffiyeh for a long time now, some people assume that it originated in Palestine due to Yasser Arafat.

Men who live in deserts usually wear turbans in order to protect their faces from the sand and hot sun. Apart from this, there are those who wear them in order to disguise their real identity. It is also common to find members of a certain tribe wearing a uniquely colored one so as to show their tribal affiliations. All in all, turbans for men come in diverse colors, styles and shapes. Even though a simple glance may not reveal what they signify, it is a fact that they represent so much.
