The much spoken topic of today is the conflict between the Member of Parliament Sajin Vass Gunawardena and the High Commissioner,Sri Lanka  to Britain Dr Chris Nonis.The latter had lodged a complaint to the Foreign Ministry regarding that the former had assaulted him and that he would resign if stern disciplinary action is not taken against him.
For the first time the Member of Parliament of the government Sajin Vass Gunawardena had revealed his observations on this matter to the media for the first time.Speaking to ‘Sirasa’  television he had denied of any sort of assault,but had said there was only a heated argument.He had also added that it may be a personal decision of Dr Nonis to resign from his position.
He also had said that if any one makes a complaint,justice would be meted out to punish anyone found guilty.

Mobile phones and Wi-Fi signals are causing chaos in aircraft cockpits.

Interference from some devices has been found to make vital displays on the flight deck flicker and black out.

Tests on the ground even resulted in one screen outage lasting for over six minutes.

During take-off and landing these issues could be catastrophic as essential data would disappear from pilots view.

And with airlines allowing more electronic devices to be used on their aircraft, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) have now decided to take immediate action.

It has ordered that displays on over 1,320 Boeing aircraft be replaced, costing millions of pounds.

The FAA said in a statement "We are issuing this airworthiness directive to prevent loss of flight-critical information displayed to the flight crew during a critical phase of flight, such as an approach or take-off, which could result in loss of airplane control at an altitude insufficient for recovery, or controlled flight into terrain,"

Boeing say they have been aware of the Wi-Fi problems since 2012 and have voluntarily fixed the issue on some of its aircraft already.

But some airlines, including Ryanair and Air France, aren’t happy with the ruling stating that they don’t believe signals from mobiles or Wi-Fi are strong enough to cause issues for pilots.

The FAA said Ryanair had complained that the demands imposed "a high, and unnecessary, financial burden on operators".

Airlines now have five years to make the changes to their equipment and all operators, including Ryanair, have agreed to comply.

Although the issues are serious, experts are telling passengers not to be concerned.

Stephen Trimble from Flight International magazine said: "There's a lot of redundancies built into the planes' systems.

"It's extremely unlikely for this thing to happen. Southwest Airlines gave some data showing they have been running Boeing 737s with these display units for about 2,300,000 hours since installing a Wi-Fi system with no issues at all."
