CONFIRMED: WORLD WILL END OCTOBER 21, 2011.

RALEIGH, N.C. – Now that The Rapture has passed, Harold Camping has confirmed the Apocalypse – October 21, 2011.

May 21st, 2011 has come and gone.  The Rapture is over.  Now the dread can begin because on October 21st, 2011… all of us that have been Left Behind, will die.

As crestfallen followers of a California preacher who foresaw the world’s end strained to find meaning in their lives, Harold Camping revised his apocalyptic prophecy Monday, saying he was off by five months and the Earth actually will be obliterated on Oct. 21.

Here’s a recap of how we got here:

Marie Exley would have liked to start a family. Instead, the 32-year-old Army veteran has less than two months left on the planet and she is going to spend her time spreading the word: Judgment Day is almost here.

Exley is part of a movement of Christians loosely organized by radio broadcasts and websites, independent of churches and convinced by their reading of the Biblethat the end of the world will begin May 21, 2011.

Technically, May 21st is Judgment Day, or The Rapture, so the world won’t end that day, it’s just the beginning of the end… But, don’t worry, it will end VERY soon after.  Probably by October 21st of this year – at the latest.

To get the word out, they’re using billboards and bus stop benches, traveling caravans of RVs and volunteers passing out pamphlets on street corners. Cities from Bridgeport, Conn., to Little Rock, Ark., now have billboards with the ominous message, and mission groups are traveling through Latin America and Africa to spread the news outside the U.S.

“A lot of people might think, ‘The end’s coming, let’s go party, let’s drink and have multiple sex partners” said Exley, a veteran of two deployments in Iraq. “But we’re commanded by God to warn people. I wish I could just be like everybody else, but it’s so much better to know that when the end comes, you’ll be safe.”

Last August, Exley left her home in Colorado Springs, Colo., to work with Oakland, Calif.-based Family Radio Worldwide, the independent Christian ministry whose leader, Harold Camping, has calculated the May 21 date based on his reading of the Bible.

Her husband left for Vegas to drink and spend his life savings on prostitutes.

Exley, in the meantime, is organizing traveling columns of RVs carrying the message from city to city, a logistics challenge that her military experience has helped solve. The vehicles are scheduled to be in five North Carolina cities between now and the second week of January, but Exley will shortly be gone: overseas, where she hopes to eventually make it back to Iraq.

“I don’t really have plans to come back,” she said. “Time is short.”

Not everyone who’s heard Camping’s message is taking such a dramatic step. They’re remaining in their day-to-day lives, but helping publicize the prophecy in other ways. Allison Warden, of Raleigh, has been helping organize a campaign using billboards, post cards and other media in cities across the U.S. through a website, We Can Know.

The 29-year-old payroll clerk laughs when asked about reactions to the message, which is plastered all over her car.

“It’s definitely against the grain, I know that,” she said. “We’re hoping people won’t take our word for it, or Harold Camping’s word for it. We’re hoping that people will search the scriptures for themselves.”

Camping, 89, believes the Bible essentially functions as a cosmic calendar explaining exactly when various prophecies will be fulfilled.  But he’s 89, so he’s not so worried about the world ending.  He’s already done all the living he wants to do.

The retired civil engineer said all his calculations come from close readings of the Bible, but that external events like the foundation of the state of Israel in 1948 are signs confirming the date.

“Beyond the shadow of a doubt, May 21 will be the date of the Rapture and the day of judgment,” he said.

The doctrine known as the Rapture teaches that believers will be taken up to heaven, while everyone else will remain on earth for a period of torment, concluding with the end of time. Camping believes that will happen in October.

“If May 21 passes and I’m still here, that means I wasn’t saved and I will be dead on October 21st.  Does that mean God’s word is inaccurate or untrue? Not at all,”  Warden said.

The belief that Christ will return to earth and bring an end to history has been a basic element of Christian belief since the first century. The Book of Revelation, which comes last in the New Testatment, describes this conclusion in vivid language that has inspired Christians for centuries.

Few churches are willing to set a date for the end of the world, heeding Jesus’ words in the gospels of Mark and Matthew that no one can know the day or hour it will happen. Predictions like Camping’s, though, aren’t new. One of the most famous in history was by the Baptist leader William Miller,who predicted the end for Oct. 22, 1844, which came to be known as the Great Disappointment among his followers, some of whom subsequently founded the Seventh Day Adventist church.

Ron Hardeski of Bayonne, New Jersey also predicted the world would end on February 27th, 2004 – his wife’s 50th birthday.  The world didn’t end, so Ron beat his wife to death with a Bible.  He’s serving a life sentence.

“In the U.S., there is still a significant population, mostly Protestant, who look at the Bible as kind of a puzzle, and the puzzle is God’s word and it’s predicting when the end times will come,” said Catherine Wessinger, a professor at Loyola University in New Orleans who studies millennialism, the belief in pending apocalypse.

“A lot of times these prophecies gain traction when difficulties are happening in society,” she said. “Right now, there’s a lot of insecurity, and this is a promise that says it’s not all random, it’s part of God’s plan.”

Past predictions that failed to come true don’t have any bearing on the current calculation, believers maintain.

“It would be like telling the Wright brothers that every other attempt to fly has failed, so you shouldn’t even try,” said Chris McCann, who works with eBible Fellowship, one of the groups spreading the message.

“If you want to say we’re crazy, go ahead,” she said. “But when you’re dead on May 21st (or soon after), you’ll know we were right.  And you’ll thank us.”

ALIEN SPACESHIP FOUND IN BALTIC SEA

SWEDEN –  An international team of oceanic experts have found an alien ship from Planet Gootan on the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

The ship was abandoned, but experts from the U.N. Panel of Extraterrestrials told WWN that the Gootans were using the Baltic Sea as a base to spy on humans.

The U.N. dispatched a team of experts in Unidentified Submarine Objects (USOs) to the Baltic Sea accompanied by an elite Navy SEAL team.  The U.S. military has been conducting a vast underwater reconnaissance of Gootan activities, ever since the Gootans landed three large ships on Earth in November, 2011.

Some are saying the ship looks like the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars:

It’s a sweltering summer day, so you take a big sip of a refreshing, frozen coffee—and you’re immediately doubled over with throbbing head pain.

Why do frosty foods give us headaches? New research has shed light on the possible causes (and cures) of the phenomenon known as brain freeze.

When a frozen treat comes in contact with the roof of your mouth, it triggers nerves that alert your brain of the temperature change. In response, the anterior cerebral artery dilates and increases blood flow to the brain’s frontal lobe to help keep it warm and protected, says Jorge Serrador, M.D. of Harvard Medical School, lead researcher on a recent study which identified the mechanisms at work during what’s commonly called brain freeze.

Researchers believe that the additional blood flow to the frontal lobe increases pressure in the skull, which brain receptors process as pain. This could explain why the frontal lobe is the area of the brain that feels “frozen” post-popsicle, Serrador says.

Here are three ways to avoid the big chill:

1. Tongue It
Can you curl your tongue? Good. Fold the tip of it backward and stick the bottom of your tongue to the roof of your mouth. The warmth will help heat up the nerves in your palette and cause the blood flow to your brain to normalize, Serrador says.

2. Slurp Slowly
To make study participants get brain freeze, Serrador had them suck down ice water like thirsty maniacs. Why? “The only way to get a brain freeze is to drink or eat whatever it is [that’s cold] really fast,” he says. If you drink (or eat) more slowly, you give your blood time to heat the tissue in the roof of your mouth and avoid triggering a cold-induced headache. So slow down and savor your treat.

3. Warm Your Hands
Your hands might not be cold, but acting like they are can make your mouth warmer, Serrador says. Cup your hands around your mouth like you would in the winter and exhale deeply. It will trap warm air in your mouth and help thaw your noggin.

ALIEN SPACESHIPS TO ATTACK EARTH IN NOVEMBER 2012!.

Three giant alien spaceships are again heading for Earth!  Scientists predict the new ships will arrive in November of  2012.

UFO encounters continue to increase – as documented on WWN.  And today scientists at SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), an independent non-commercial organization,  made a major announcement:

“Three giant spaceships are heading toward Earth. The largest one of them is 200 miles wide. Two others are slightly smaller. At present, the objects are just moving past Jupiter.  Judging by their speed, they should be on Earth by the fall of  2012,” said John Malley, the lead extraterrestrial expert at SETI.

Three similar giant ships landed in China and the Indonesia Sea in November, 2011.  They were identified as alien spaceships from Planet Gootan. Three more giant Gootan ships are headed her for November, 2012.

THE GOOTANS ARE HERE

The new Gootan spaceships have been detected by HAARP search system. The system, based in Alaska, was designed to study the phenomenon of northern lights. According to SETI researchers, the objects are extraterrestrial spaceships. They will be visible in optical telescopes as soon as they reach Mars’s orbit – sometime in  November of 2012. The US government has been reportedly informed about the event.

THE JETPACK IS HERE!

NEW ZEALAND – A commercially developed jetpack, The Martin, is ready for liftoff!

The first commercially developed jetpack, The Martin jetpack, is ready for mass production and will soon be released to the public.  The City of Los Angeles has already ordered 10,000 jetpacks for its police, paramedics and fire department.  “We’ll all be flying around L.A. soon,” said Mayor Antonio Villaragoisa.  “And it’s another great tool for law enforcement.”

The LAPD is in the process of hiring over 1,000 Law Enforcement Jet Pack Officers.  They have begun training them out near Joshua Tree National Park.

Jetpacks are real, and you’ll be able to buy one in two months!

The Martin Jetpack  is reusable and while it is a bit pricey, and a little bit bulky, they are worth it.  Soon you will be able to strap on your jetpack and liftoff for work.

You strap it on, you fly.   It’s that simple.  “They developed it so even the dumbest among us can use it,” said aerospace engineer, Todd Cox.  “Cars will be in the dustbin of history soon enough.”

The jetpack was developed by the Martin Aircraft Company which was founded in 1998 and operates out of New Zealand.  The Martin Aircraft Company was founded by Glenn Neal Martin, not to be confused with Glenn Luther Martin, whose “Glenn L. Martin Company” became the “Martin” in “Lockheed Martin.”   My favorite Martins!

The Martin jetpack can carry a person up to 8000 feet in the sky or the 31.5 miles distance that travelling at the maximum regulated speed of  63 mph will take you. With a full tank of gas, that would last roughly 30 minutes, although Martin Aircraft expects that to improve as the manufacturing process becomes more efficient. They are working on a second model that can take you to the moon.  That’s a few years off…

The jetpack is convenient for locations where parking might be an issue. Standing 5 feet tall by 5.5 feet wide, with a length of 5ft.  And if you use stack parking, experts predict you can put about 20 in your driveway.  Meet the Jetsons!

Many of the specs for the jetpack are regulated by FAA restrictions, including the 5 gallon fuel tank and the areas that the vehicle can legally operate. The FAA does not require that users- who will almost certainly be referred to by owners as “pilots”, or “rocketeers”- will however need to file a flight plan before ripping off into the heavens. How the police or an FAA official would be able to catch pilots that fail to file a flight plan is unknown, but odds are they would find a way.

Currently the Martin jetpack is classified as a recreational vehicle, but it is restricted to non-urban airspaces for individuals – at the moment.  Laws will have to be changed and amended to deal with the onslaught of jetpacks and rocketeers.

The price at the moment is $100,000, but the company hopes to bring the cost down dramatically in the near future.

STORM CONFIRMS END-OF-WORLD MAYAN PROPHECY.

Last weekend’s powerful storm left millions without power and brought countless dollars in destruction. However, the consequences of the event may be even more severe than thought.

Experts have confirmed that last week’s major storm outbreak along the Eastern portion of the United States solidifies Mayan predictions about the end of the world. The combination of the storms along the East Coast and continued wildfires on the West Coast seem to be straight out of ancient texts concerning the prediction.

“It’s not just some calendar from which we get these ideas about the end of the world,” said one expert, who asked not to be named. “Though the famous Great Cycle of the Long Count will indeed be completed this winter, several Mayan texts suggest that certain signs will precede this.”

One of these texts speaks of a “Grand Continent,” which many have come to think describes North America. The text says, “Wind and Fire will take their sides on the Grand Continent, and then will return to meet in the middle.”

“I think that about sums it up,” said the expert.

Last weekend’s mighty storm was labeled a derecho, or a wide windstorm that moves in a line and is accompanied typically by thunderstorms. Authorities continue to battle the effects of the storm and persisting wildfires, but some believe far more is up ahead.

Though the U.S. government has refused to acknowledge the predictions, many believe federal entities are investigating the prophecy and any kind of solution. Weekly World News will continue to the follow the story.

NASA scientists have reportedly confirmed that the planet Nibiru will collide with Earth in July of this year.

The Nibiru collision with Earth in 2012 has been predicted for a long time, but astrophysicists, cosmologists and astronomers around the world have now come to a consensus that Earth will indeed collide with the planet, which lies just outside Pluto.

Natural disasters are accelerating exponentially and astronomers believe that they are being caused by Nibiru coming closer and closer to Earth.

Katy Perry, wearing her nudesuit, performed her song ‘Wide Awake’ and won an award at the MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVA) 2012.

While accepting the award Katy Perry quickly realized her butt was showing through her outfit so she quickly hid it with her award.

Today:  her nudsuit is flying off the shelves.  Teen girls love it and want it.

In malls across America, over a hundred thousand sheer nudesuits were sold to teenage girls, and many of them were planning on wearing them to either their high school prom, high school graduation or both.

Some girls are even wearing the nudesuits to school.  Senior girls at Temecula High School in California all wore their sheer suits to school.  The Principal wanted to send them all home, but if he did – there would only be a handful of girls in the whole school.

“It was very uncomfortable for everyone (except the boys).  It looked like all the girls were naked,” said a source at the school.

A WWN reader spotted a UFO over the mountains of Vancouver this morning.

Zahid Jiwa, an alert WWN reader from Vancouver, was out this morning at approximately 8 am.  That’s when he took the above picture of what is clearly and definitively a UFO.

The mountains of Vancouver have long been a haven for UFOs.   Alien spaceships have found the Canadians friendly and welcoming.

Zahid quickly took out his cell phone camera and took the shot.  Since then  people in Canada have been, “freaking out.”

WWN contacted the U.N. Panel on Extraterrestrials.  They sent Dr. Banesh Bannerjee to Vancouver to investigate Zahid’s sighting and he has this report.

“This is, once again, an alien spaceship from Planet Zeeba,” said Bannerjee.  ”We have seen several Zeeban ships over the last month, doing recon of various cities.  We want to assure the Canadian citizens that the Zeebans are peaceful and are only here to help them.  They mean no harm.”

The Zeeban ships were seen over Vancouver in 2008 as well:

Dr. Bannerjee is going to meet with Zahid today and review all the photographs in his camera.  ”We think Zahid did a remarkable job of capturing a Zeeban ship and we are going to invite him to the U.N. to discuss it in person.”

Meanwhile, WWN and the U.N. are on the lookout for Gootan spaceships.  The Gootans are here to – destroy us.

Reports so far indicate that there may be another 29 Gootan ships in oceans around the globe and the number appears to be increasing daily.

“The Gootan ships have been sighted by seamen and divers worldwide and the descriptions are amazingly similar,” said Dr. Simon Michaels, a marine biologist with high-level contacts in the Pentagon.

“The undersea vessels are about 300 feet long with two saucer-shaped appendages and they are extremely fast. They are capable of reaching great depths – but can also pass from the water straight up into the atmosphere and right in out to stellar space.

“Over the past three decades, we’ve had such sightings from time to time. But the vast increase in reports over the last few months confirms that we are dealing with a major alien invasion from Planet Gootan.”

The Gootan ship in the Baltic was found by a Swedish company named Ocean Explorer.  They found the ship using their sonar technology – and immediately reported it to extraterrestrial experts at the U.N.

Fred Luskin wants me to forgive my mother. And, while I'm at it, my father, my third-grade teacher, my passive-aggressive coworker, the woman who cut me off on the highway, and the guys in Washington who've made such a mess of things. Not for their sake, but for mine: Luskin is convinced I'll be less anxious, more upbeat, and healthier if I do.

After studying forgiveness for close to 20 years, he should know. A lean wolfhound of a man with a mop of bushy hair parted down the middle, Luskin holds a PhD in counseling and health psychology from Stanford University, where he is the cofounder and director of the Stanford Forgiveness Project. He's a pioneer in the burgeoning forgiveness field, and it appears he's onto something. Study after study has found that forgiving is good for the body as well as the soul. It can lower blood pressure and heart rate and reduce levels of depression, anxiety, and anger. People who forgive generally have more and better relationships with others, feel happier and more hopeful, and score higher on just about every measure of psychological well-being.

The trouble is, most of us don't know how to do it. There's no playbook for forgiveness, no manual for getting past betrayals, disappointments, and hurts. This is where Luskin comes in. He's the master of forgiveness how-to. He believes forgiveness is a trainable skill that everyone can—and should—learn.

And this is why, on a sunny Friday morning, I'm seated at a conference room table at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, a therapy-training facility on Manhattan's Upper East Side. A dozen other women are with me, mostly therapists looking to broaden their skills, though a few of us have come for personal reasons. My main motivation is a painful relationship with my mother, who has a history of erratic behavior and lashing out at me (and others). Despite my many efforts at reconciliation, we've been estranged for most of my adult life. I'm here to find out if forgiveness could change our dynamic.

Luskin, dressed in khakis and docksiders, looks like he's ready to sail down the Hudson, not lead a workshop. He has no laptop, no briefcase, no handouts or notes, not even a copy of his book, Forgive for Good. He slouches at the head of the table and talks in a low, patient voice, his hands occasionally smoothing his hair. He tells us that despite what we may have heard about forgiveness "journeys," there are really only two steps in the process: grieving and letting go. Grieving, after you have been wronged, means letting yourself feel the anger, hurt, and trauma in all its original pain—but not indefinitely. "After about two years, most people have had plenty of time to process," Luskin explains. "Then they're ready to move on."

Not moving on—hanging on to resentment and rage—is tantamount to having an existential tantrum, according to Luskin. "We think the world owes us," he says. "But it doesn't. Babies die when they're born. Women are raped. Whole ethnic groups are wiped out. There's no such thing as fair. The guy who loses a parking space to a more aggressive driver thinks, "I want that parking space." A mother whose child has been murdered thinks, "I want my child to be alive." Either way, that's sometimes just not how it works."

A ripple of shock runs through the room. How can anyone compare losing a parking space to losing a child? "It's better not to get caught up in content," Luskin says. By content he means each person's individual story, the source of her anger or hurt.

No matter what the offense, he continues, the process of forgiveness is the same: You let go of anger and hurt by being mindful and focusing on gratitude and kindness. Again, the ripple runs around the table. That's it? A little mindful meditation and all is forgiven? Luskin smiles wryly. "Forgiveness concepts are simple," he says. "It's the execution that's hard."
