When you're an adult, you're going to recall certain aspects of your life better than others. For example, I remember building things with my father, being able to attain a taste of construction all the while. I have been able to help him with a number of projects around the house and each of them seemed to stand out in their own ways. I didn't know if quality rivets were a big point back then but I can certainly see where they play into the experiences I had in my youth.

In time, though, my level of understanding started to rise and I became more apt to utilize them for more common projects. Even when building wasn't part of the equation, I can certainly tell you that there was work done around the house. For example, every year around the winter holidays, I would find myself helping my dad out when it came to putting up Christmas decorations, lights and fluorescent Santa Claus included. While the job was simple enough, sometimes the small trees and vines provided challenges. I had to overcome them year after year until applying said decorations became much less of a nonissue.
Some of the most common types of structures that I was able to help build were decks that were situated in the backyard. I believe the first one was made when I was very young and it was used as a patio of sorts, since people who came over for parties could go over to it and sit while socializing. A second one was made a few years later, I believe, in order to grant better access to the pool. Both of these tasks took a number of weeks to successfully complete.
Whether quality rivets have played a small role or a larger one in my knowledge of construction, I believe they deserve to be mentioned. In fact, I think just about every utility I have learned to implement deserves a special kind of mention. More than anything, I am happy that I was able to learn from my father's efforts along with my own as I went along. Maybe, in the future, I can start to build my own toolbox in case there is ever a need to build something of my own.
