Now the thing about serving normal rations is that there are Jewish people in the army and they strictly follow a kosher diet. That is why there are such things as a kosher MRE in order for these people to be able to eat. Meat is one of the staple foods that people in the military would need simply because they need the strength and energy that the nutrients of meat would provide. Packets like these would usually have chicken or beef meals which can be eaten on the spot. Some other manufacturers who are a little more innovative may serve lamb or even veal meat meals. Aside from meat products there are also the ones that are specifically on a vegan or a vegetarian diet. Many vegetables dishes are packed inside these packets such as vegetable stews or mixed vegetables. For those who would want an extra flavor in their meals, there are also vegetarian pasta dishes with other additions such as cheese and tomato sauce. Of course not only meals are provided but even some in between snacks just in case soldiers get hungry during the middle of the day. Nuts are among one of the most common things that manufacturers add in packages like this because these things are very helpful with the sharpness of the brain. The nuts that are served here would usually be almond nuts or even cashew nuts. For the people who are fans of fruits and grain snacks, there are also dried fruits inside and crunchy cereals. Raisins and crackers are among some of the most common snacks in this category. The good thing about these kinds of snacks is that they are a good source of fiber for the body in order for it to be healthy. Not only are meals and snacks served here but even some powdered drinks too. Most of these packed boxes would include coffee with creamers and also some powdered milk. For those who do not drink coffee, some packages also include some powdered chocolate milk or powdered cocoa so that people who do not take coffee can have an already. Just for those who have a sweet tooth, these packages also have some small sweet snacks that will help satisfy sugar cravings. Some of these packs include granola bars which are known to be healthy alternatives as compared to many other junk food snacks out there. Sometimes small candies are included in the packages for the soldiers to have during their free time. Even if these are the usual things that one would be finding inside of a kosher MRE pack, sometimes manufacturers would go out of their way to serve consumers. For example, if one would request for a special package because of his special diet, manufacturers would make one. Of course this custom made one would be more expensive.
