Relating Egyptian History And The Old Testament

For many years, many scholars have been trying to disprove the reliability of the old testament which can be found in the Bible. However, if one would analyze the chronological order of events in Egyptian history, he would find out that there are some facts that would actually lead to the merging of Egyptian history and the old testament. Here are some of the things to look at.

Now if one would look at the traditional set of events that happened in ancient Egypt, he would find that these facts were all written by different historians. Some of them to name were of course Manetho, Josephus, and Herodotus. However, by tracing back some of their works, one would find that most of these historians would actually have a lot of disagreements with each other when it comes to the actual set of events.

So in order to see how the Bible is related to the history of Egypt, it is important to first take note of Noah. Now had a grandson named Mizraim or Mestraim who was said to be the founding father of all the Egyptians. This is backed up by the claims of the historian Eusebius who stated that after the fall of Babel, Mestraim created Egypt and some of the tribes that came from Babel joined him in order to create the race.

Now one of the most important and crucial things to take note of would be the visit of Abraham. Now according to the Bible, Abraham visited the land of Egypt some time after he had made a covenant with God during the time when there was a plague in Canaan. Now during this time, the Pharaoh of Egypt was the mighty Khufu.

During the reign of Khufu, the pyramids that he built were not perfect in shape and in size. This was simply because the Egyptians during that time did not that have complete knowledge of arithmetic and advanced mathematics. Abraham was a part of the Chaldean race which is a race known for their knowledge and skills in arithmetic.

Now in relation to Abraham, if one would trace the records, he would find that after the visit of Abraham, the blocks of the pyramids actually became perfectly squared. The only conclusion that can be drawn from that would be that Abraham taught the Egyptians arithmetic and geometry. This is further supported by the fact that Abraham is part of the Chaldean race, a race known for math skills.

Another very interesting account was that of Moses. If one would look at the 12th dynasty timeline, he would see that during that time, Amenemhet III was the pharaoh. He would also find that the Pharaoh had two daughters and one of the daughters fostered an adopted son which was to be the successor who was actually Moses.

So with all of these accounts, it is actually not advisable to brush off the Bible as a source of history. During that time, the dates may have been different which means that there could have been a mistake in making the timeline. So far the Bible has been quite accurate in stating accounts.
