Why Organic Food Is Actually More Suitable For Your Health?

Organic food is certainly nothing new and has been with us for thousands of years, however recently more people have been taking an interest in it and the word organic has turned into a big buzz word. The organic food marketplace is prospering because lots of people are taking an interest and they tend to be more expensive than non-organic food. Keeping all this in mind, the question should be asked; is organic food profoundly beneficial or actually necessary for our bodies? Should we be having to pay more money on food that is allegedly better for you?

In order to find the answers, we first must grasp what "organic" means. The name organic refers to something that has not been chemically modified or had chemicals used to enhance growth and longevity. Things like synthetic fertilizers, genetically modified organisms, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are not used with organic food. When considering the essential protein foods such as eggs, dairy and meat, antibiotics or Growth Hormone (GH) are not given to the animals.

If you want to sell food and require it to be labeled "organic", there is a requirement that the food has to be in produce for 3 years. The purpose of this waiting period is to allow the soil to develop natural nutrients and minerals so that the new crop is completely free from chemicals when it is grown A lot of hard work and time goes into organic food, hence its no real shock that its more expensive. However, is all that challenging care worth it? Is there any other reason why I need to be interested in getting organic food?

Lots of people recognize that organic food provides a higher nutritional value then regular food. Milk from cows which were organically raised contained, on average, 50% more Vitamin E, 70% more Beta Carotene, 2 times as many antioxidants and more Omega-3 than dairy milk created in the conventional way. Organic food is also free of most chemically enhancing agents mentioned earlier which can have a negative effect on your health. By not posessing these carcinogenic substances the food is better for your health. The next benefit is a matter of opinion, as many people say organic food tastes better than non organic, but again you cannot state this as a fact as its down to ones own preferences.

Organic food is also essential pertaining to the environment. Chemical compounds such as insecticides all combine to have a negative influence on our environment. This can be avoided by using organic food. Pollution is adding to the important dilemma of global warming, however organic farming keeps pollution to a minimum which is fantastic news. When animals are not raised with the intention of marketing organic foods, they are often mistreated by keeping them in tiny enclosures and force feeding them to induce enhanced growth over a shorter amount of time whereas organic farmers tend to take good care of their animals, even allowing them to roam free.

The details are simple; organic food is more suitable for the environment, the welfare of the animals and undoubtedly for your health. Now its just up to you to make the final choice. As with anything thats good there are disadvantages, with organic food its the price tag, so its up to you to ascertain whether or not youll benefit from spending more for organic food.
