The hair scarfs are worn as appreciation symbols of people who have been held with great honor in the community. To some, they are called robes of honor. One of the headbands that symbolize the highest level of honor is called Siropa. Individuals who have served as devotees for a long time have the full right to put on headbands for easy recognition.

Although they may appear permanent on the heads of many, there are occasions where their removal is crucial. This occurs especially when a member of the family or a friend dies. In such situations many would come back home with their heads uncovered. Both males and females members of the society would remove their headbands to start the mourning sessions. This was seen as the final respect a member of the society could receive.

Women have shown great contribution to the society including educating it in matters of moral values. The headbands enable them to have smooth flow as they give educational sessions to the community members, due to the value they hold. Most of the unfriendly happenings are known to escape the presence of sacred headscarf. This makes many to like them near for absolute security.

Although females are so sensitive to colors and love the bright ones, they have to stick to the ones selected and embrace their meaning. To prove the whole essence of peace, white headbands are the most appropriate. Saffron orange ones symbolize wisdom while black ones are signs of total surrender and selflessness. These colors have the same meaning with the ones imposed in the turbans for women.
