How A Gift Rescued Me Against Danger

By Stefen B Trudeau

My Uncle Ken offered me a stun weapon flashlight as a gift item for my last birthday. I never really paid attention to its precise use and importance. But I did bring this along with me all the time given that I had to walk 100 meters where it was eerily dark coming back home. Therefore, it was much more a flashlight than a personal defense weapon for me.

I ultimately got to inspect the device while waiting for a pal at a diner. I did remember Uncle Ken stating stun guns were common since they were non-lethal and left no long-term damage. Even though the effects were quick, these were simply short-term.

He bought me a flashlight stun weapon specifically because it acted a dual purpose, for light and also self-defense. And in case I needed to make use of it for defense, the flashlight could blind briefly and disorient my enemy, providing me an opportunity to zap him.

Well, what do you know? I was listening to my own uncle, after all. However I could not quite recall precisely what he stated concerning how powerful my stun weapon was. I checked and it stated 4 million volts. Amazing, this must be a high voltage stun weapon and the electrical probes were not even seen.

It turned out I was going to test the device on my walk home. The second the guy seized my arm and dragged me, the flashlight was illuminating my path. Although panicked, I managed to press the switch which released the electrical shock.

I was able to stick this to his shoulder and was similarly shocked at the effect immediately after a two-second contact. He froze and then lost his balance while releasing my arm. I staggered back and watched him slump to the ground.

I felt cold sweat break on my temple and that spurred me to action. I observed his muscles quiver just before I finally got away.

The moment I got home, I stared in shock at my brand new best companion: my stun device with light. Right now, I am aware of its specific value to me - my safety.
