The Family Friendly Features of City Bikes Worth Citing

By Rob Sutter

Shopping around for a new bicycle may take some time because you're not entirely sure how certain matters operate. Things such as brakes, wheel rotation, and handling overall are just a few to look into. While features of city bikes may not have always been ones that are family-centric, think about how this idea my change so that it's incorporated into the future. The very idea of this was hard for me to believe until I read one story that went into detail about it.

An article on TreeHugger talked about how one model would possess features of city bikes which are, quite simply, family friendly. The Kinn Cascade Flyer may seem like your typical cycle at first glance but there are a number of standard qualities which make it even greater. Basically, unlike other models, it's scaled down enough to make it appealing to casual crowds while having the look that collectors will vie for. This is a tandem which can be supported by companies like Linus Bike.

When riding this particular bike, it feels very natural, just like any other model you would cruise upon. However, the article said that it was extended so that the frame was six inches longer and this resulted in a greater size. This meant that, in theory, you could place a child within a seat of his or her own or upon the wooden seat situated on it. Seeing as how said seat can carry people of all weights, it is entirely safe to utilize.

The bike should also be looked at in terms of various other facets, too. For example, the back panels act as skirt guards of sorts; this means that if a child was placed upon the vehicle, his or her feet wouldn't be caught in that area. The foot rest is one that can be utilized by younger people, regardless of their sizes. These are the items which are built to last on this kind of vehicle and I think that it goes without saying that the results seen are some of the finest a family can ask for.

One can only hope that more of these features are implemented into models in the future because I think that the audience for city bikes can grow. It's clear that many of them are made for the dedicated cyclists you see on the road constantly. However, does this mean that other audiences have to be left out of the equation? I think that if these kinds of alterations came about, then the crowd for them would expand and the consumer base would be all the better.
