John Tallon Jones was not an artist that I was familiarized with until just recently, when a good friend of mine played me the superb "Escape" CD which was launched in the mid 1990's. After hearing this, I did a Google search and found that the 2nd CD called "southerly Wind" had just recently been released, and I bought it wishing that unlike a great deal of 2nd albums it would come up to the criterion of the very first.
I wasn't let down, yet was a little bit shocked at the adjustment in vogue and musical instructions that the second CD takes. This is the music from a definitely unique yet very artistic style; a CD where Punk meets Country, Rock and Pop and thrown into the mix is Some Metal Punish classical state of minds. Alarming straits satisfies JJ Cale and Paganini.
The reality that John Tallon Jones is a very talented instrumentalist becomes clear from the first track. The upbeat Alarming Straits sort of guitar playing combines with a powerful vocal which proceeds until we hit monitor 3 which is incredibly reminiscent of the JJ Cale" Tulsa sound" a gritty vocal over audio guitar and violin.
The violin features heavily in the upcoming track which is just one of my beloved. "Troika Dance" is a metal Classic violin instrumental which is as away from the initial 2 as you can perhaps be. And so the Album continues, with virtually every track taking you to yet an additional style and one more superb hook. We are managed to a "Rut Irish Reel" in Jenny's poultries, and then lastly at the end, my individual beloved which is a manic violin important called "Electric Fugue" which took me back to the seventies and has echoes of that fantastic violinist Daryl Means, and his band Curved Air.
That is John Tallon Jones? He is simply as well off the wall surface for a mainstream crowd yet; and this is an extremely massive however; this is popular music that has enthusiasm and electricity which is standing by to be discovered and like my friend, the people who do find this multi talented musician are really zealous about your man, and will certainly tell you so. Southern Wind is an excellent CD and well worth a pay attention. Pass it on.
I was not let down, but was a little bit stunned at the modification in design and music direction that the second album takes. And so the Album proceeds, with almost every monitor taking you to yet one more design and another outstanding hook. He is just also off the wall for a mainstream crowd but; and this is an incredibly substantial yet; this is songs that have the passion and energy which is standing by to be uncovered and like my good friend, the people who do find this multi talented artist are extremely intense about your man, and will tell you so.
