Should the Don't Text and Drive Message Be More Visible?

By Rob Sutter

It shouldn't come as any surprise that the don't text and drive message continues to be shown to people. The problem that I have with it, though, is that people don't seem to be taking that very message seriously. In my eyes, they most certainly should because how else are they going to be able to register the dangers of this act, which has already taken many lives? There are a number of ways that this can happen and I believe a few of them deserve more of a mention than others.

What if you're passionate about blogging but are open to changing up the subject matter for a post or two? One of the important topics to offer your opinion on would have to be the subject of don't text and drive. You want to be able to leave your responses to other stores, so what is going to stop your readers from talking about this important topic at length, either? It's important to have the conversation ball rolling and organizations the likes of Texting Awareness would most likely love to see it done.

This could also be done in video form, if your blogging style isn't exactly set to writing. Sometimes people may relate to a video better since it's more visual and allows people to see the person behind it as they emote and express themselves as opposed to staying behind walls of text. If you're a YouTube user and, as before, you have a high number of fans, this is ideal. You may be amazed at just how much power a message like this can have.

Social media is perhaps one of the strongest tools in the world today, especially when you think about how many people utilize these pages. You can post your own unique content, so who's to say that this message couldn't be the one to showcase? I don't know if everyone is going to be able to muster the incentive to share out, though. My argument to this is that it takes a short amount of time to do so; five seconds, at the most, is all one requires.

I don't think that there's any excuse not to share out something if it meant that the don't text and drive campaign would be broadened. It's an important subject but I don't know if enough people know just how vital it is. People will ultimately make mistakes and while I have no problem with this, my issue comes from the idea that there isn't enough recognition about the fatal side effects it could have. These ideas, as well as others, should be mentioned.
