Summer Fun And More At Amusement Parks Nebraska

Nebraska is a Midwestern state rich in history and scenery. There are many traditional activities to enjoy including State Parks, historical sites, and museums. Still kids of all ages will jump with joy at the chance to enjoy amusement parks Nebraska.

Fun-Plex in Omaha is a combination amusement park, water park, and family fun center. Fun-Plex has the largest roller coaster in the state. Thrill seekers also enjoy traditional amusement park rides like the tilt-a-whirl and ferris wheel. There are kids rides, an arcade, bumper boats, go-karts, and miniature golf. In addition to hosting parties and group events, Fun-Plex offers a summer day camp experience for children between 7 and 13.

Skatedaze Family Entertainment Center, located in Omaha, is an indoor facility open year round. It features roller skating, laser tag, rock wall climbing, arcade games, a bounce house with slides, kiddie rides, a family roller coaster, and Playdazium, a 2-story play structure. They offer party options, group events, and an overnight adventure for scouts.

Omaha's Family Fun Center boasts a 2-level arena for laser tag and laser maze. An indoor paintball arena uses mess free paintless paintballs. Kids as young as 5 can enjoy Bazooka Ball, paintball jr. played with foam balls. There's also an arcade and a super hero themed golf course.

If you're near Lincoln, visit the Champion Fun Center for family friendly activities like miniature golf, batting cages, go-karts, bowling, water balloon competitions, and an arcade. Their signature ride is a 4-story Free Fall. A similar experience can be had at Papio Fun Park in Papillion, a year round center featuring go-karts, mini-golf, laser tag, batting cages, water wars, and an arcade.

There's water play amusement to be found in Nebraska. In Columbus, the theme of Discovery Island Water Playland is Christopher Columbus. Kids play on replicas of sailing ships, shoot and dodge water cannons, splash in Pirate's Cove. At Island Oasis Water Park in Grand Island, kids of all ages float down lazy river, ride the waves in the wave pool, and enjoy slides, the largest as tall as a 6-story building.

Although not famous for its theme parks, carnivals, and water parks, there's plenty of fun to be had at amusement parks Nebraska. Summer travelers and residents will want to check out the many county fairs and city festivals offering carnival fun. The 2013 State Fair runs August 23 - September 2. If you're near Gretna in October, take the kids to Vala's Pumpkin Patch which features a kiddie amusement park on the edge of a Pumpkin Patch.
